✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Jump the Rung is a selective leadership accelerator designed to prepare high-performing women for expanded strategic roles.

The program focuses on the capabilities that matter most at the next level: managing up, communicating with senior leaders, cross-functional execution, conflict resolution, and leading through complexity. Participants are nominated by companies that recognize the importance of early investment in exceptional talent.

Cohorts are curated, frameworks are rigorously applied to real-time business challenges, and outcomes are immediately visible in how participants lead.

Organizations use Jump the Rung to strengthen their pipeline, retain top talent, and build leaders who can navigate across teams and stakeholders with confidence.

  • Jump the Rung is a cohort-based virtual accelerator for high-performing women ready to step into greater strategic scope. Participants join a curated peer group drawn from innovative, industry-leading organizations.

Over the course of six weeks, participants engage in a structured mix of self-paced learning, live virtual sessions, and applied practice—all designed to help them lead across functions, influence senior stakeholders, and drive high-value outcomes.

    The experience includes:

    • Weekly video modules (60 minutes) with practical frameworks, strategic tools, and real-world scenarios

    • Two live 60-minute sessions each week for discussion, case study review, and peer coaching

    • Guided exercises to apply each week’s concepts directly to current leadership challenges

The program is designed to stretch leaders in a focused, supportive environment.

  • This program is grounded in our research on the Broken Rung—the early-career gap that disproportionately impacts BIPOC and immigrant women, even in inclusive organizations.

We’ve studied how traditional leadership development often overlooks the lived experience of this group: navigating power without precedent and building influence in environments where few role models share their path.

Jump the Rung is intentionally designed to close that gap—with a curriculum that addresses the strategic, relational, and psychological aspects of leading at the next level.

  • Jump the Rung is built for busy, high-performing leaders. Everything in the program is designed to integrate directly into their day-to-day work. Each week includes:

    • Self-paced learning (60–90 minutes): One core video module with frameworks and examples, plus light pre-work

    • Live cohort sessions (2 hours/week): A case-based group session and a smaller peer group discussion

    • Application (60–90 minutes): Weekly exercises that apply directly to current priorities—no fluff, no extra work

Most participants find the program doesn’t add time to their plate; instead, it sharpens how they approach the work they’re already doing.

  • The curriculum is designed around the core capabilities rising leaders need to lead at scale: managing up, influencing across functions, navigating complexity, and communicating with senior stakeholders.

Over six weeks, participants move through a structured progression that includes:

    • Communicating clearly and confidently with executive stakeholders

    • Managing upward and across with influence, not overload

    • Driving alignment across teams without formal authority

    • Making decisions and leading through ambiguity

    • Navigating stakeholder dynamics and power structures

    • Translating strong execution into enterprise-level leadership

Each concept is introduced with actionable frameworks, applied through real-time challenges, and reinforced through peer discussion, case work, and role plays.

Participants leave with not just insight—but repeatable tools they apply immediately to high-priority work.
